Every purchase on the client's part, be it of a custom commission or of something premade, is subject to the Terms of Service listed below.
It's the client's responsibility to read and understand these terms.

(imported to new site, clarified some parts)

✧ 1. General ✧ 2. Behavior & Respect ✧ 3. Warranty ✧ 4. Liability Disclaimer ✧ 5. Process ✧ 6. Payment and Refunds ✧ 7. Shipping ✧
1. General
Lilac Dreams Studio is an artisanal business led by an individual person, who will be referred to as the Artist from now on.
The Client is any person who exchanges money for a custom artisanal product or a premade artisanal product made by the maker.
Each Client can order only one commission at a time during the commission opening time.
Multiple individual products can be part of the same commission, if belonging to the same Client.
Upcoming commission openings are advertised on all of the Artist's accounts ahead of the opening time, and a timer will be added to this site.
The Client can request a quote at any moment. The Artist will answer when available.
Provided quotes can change in price over time and are valid only within the 3 months since they were provided.
The Artist reserves the right to refuse a quote or commission request from anyone, at any time, for any reason, without obligation of justification.
The Artist does not accept rush orders nor deadlines.
The Client may indicate a desiderable deadline, but the Artist does not guarantee it will be respected and will not rush the order to meet it.
Exceptions may be made at the Artist's discretion, but a 75% fee will be applied.
The Artist retains all display rights, including the right to publish, redistribute and utilize all material related to commissions for advertisement purposes.
2. Behavior & Respect
In order to request a commission, the Client must be 18 years old. Parent permission is not accepted.
The Artist does not haggle. Any discount, offer or reduction of price is decided solely by the Artist.
The Artist is only responsible for her own mistakes, meaning that she is not liable for mistakes on the Client's part.
The Artist retains the right not to follow the order of her public commission queue.
While an order will be initially established, completion and progress of all phases of the commission might be subjected to delays, shifts in schedule and unexpected pauses due to the nature of artisanal work. Quality custom products take time to make, but availability and delivery of the required materials also play a major role.
Clients will always be promptly notified of any progress made on their order, but they're encouraged to check the public queue before asking the Artist for updates.
When posting photos of the product on social media, the Client commits to periodically specify that the product was created by the Artist, by naming or tagging the business name of the maker: Lilac Dreams Studio.
Harassment, violation of boundaries and any disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, be it towards the Artist, members of the collaborator team or any other Client.
The Artist does not work with people who use AI-generated images or anything related to web3, nor wishes to be associated with them.
The Artist does not wish to be associated with people who engage in acts that violate/deny human rights, openly support those who do, or actively harm the community they're part of.
The Artist may issue a warning, but she retains the right to abandon a current Client's project without warning and issue a partial refund if said Client is found to be disruptive in any serious manner.
Minor infractions will lead to a warning, but previous Clients found to be engaging in serious ToS-breaking behavior will be removed from the family group, their warranties will be immediately voided, and be blacklisted.
Further steps may be taken depending on the gravity of the situation, up to including full and public dissociation from the individual and work done for them if necessary.
3. Warranty
The Artist offers 1 year of warranty to repair wear-and-tear damages on all individual products.
Warranty covers: popped seams, holes, tears, fitting issues, adhesive failure, material failure, general wear and tear.
Photographic proof must be provided.
Warranty immediately expires when the product:
- is damaged by the Client's negligence or on purpose.
- is modified by the Client or third parties.
- comes into contact with substances that may compromise the Artist's health or the materials' characteristics.
The Client accepts to cover the shipping fees in full when shipping the costume to the Artist for warranty repairs. The Client also accepts to clean and sanitize everything before proceeding to shipping.
The Client (or third parties) are not allowed to modify or copy the style, work and technology used in the making of any commission. Such actions will lead to the immediate expiration of the warranty and blacklisting of the Client from future orders. Special exceptions may be granted by the Artist exclusively following a direct request from the Client.
The warranty will not be extended even in case of modifications or updates done to the product by the Artist following its completion date.
Individual parts of the costume (head, paws, tail, accessories, etc) are identified as individual products, and as such will have their individual warranty.
4. Liability Disclaimer
The Client takes full responsibility for what they do while wearing their product, meaning that the Artist is not liable for the Client's actions, for any health issue caused by the product, or for any physical damage caused by it.
By wearing the product, the Client confirms that they are informed of the risks posed by it (limited vision and mobility, reduced ventilation, risk of overheating, change of knocking into/down things, etc) and that they are aware of how to prevent them (proper hydration, regular breaks, awareness of the symptoms and their surroundings, etc).
The Client must inform the Artist in case of allergies to animals or specific products, as the Artist's workspace is at times shared with a dog.
The Artist will try to keep the contact to a minimum, but she cannot guarantee allergen-free products, so those with a severe dog allergy are discouraged from becoming Clients.
The Client takes full responsibility in the event they did not read the Terms of Service properly.
5. Process
Quotes are estimates and subject to change due to fluctuating material prices. Due to that, they're only valid for 3 months.
During the quote phase, the Artist will request an accurate reference sheet of the character, which will be used as the base for the requested work.
2-3 views of the interested parts are required for full body costumes and complex designs.
During the planning stage, the Client is authorized to request edits about anything.
This is no longer possible once the materials are bought and actual work on the product is started.
The Artist will provide regular updates (WIPs) to the Client throughout the project's progress, with clear indications on when decisions are final.
It's the Client's responsibility to pay attention, give feedback and bring to attention anything they want changed or fixed before decisions are made.
Once work has started, the Client may ask for up to two small changes from what was agreed to during the planning phase. The Artist may accept, depending on their extent and chance of compromising the rest of the work.
Major changes to agreed upon elements will be accepted by the Artist only in exceptional cases, which will lead to additional fees applied to the total, relative to the requested changes' extent and the additional work required to implement them.
In case of lack of feedback from the Client after 3 days from the update communication, the Artist has the right to consider the WIP in question approved or pause the commission until further decision. The Client is aware that any delay in communication will affect the queue.
Products might present small defects derived from the creation process, such as minor asymmetries and imperfections tied to the raw materials utilized. The Client must recognize that this is an expected and normal thing for artisanal products.
Regardless, all Lilac Dreams Studio's products are subjected to a careful process of test and revision before delivery to the client, so as to correct as best as possible eventual imperfections present in it.
In case of commissions that require a duct tape dummy (DTD), utmost seriousness and care in making it correctly is required of the Client.
If the DTD presents clear defects or was made incorrectly, the Artist reserves the right to ask the Client to make and send a new DTD, who will have to cover the expenses again.
6. Payment and Refunds
Payment is accepted only in € (EURO). The Client is responsible for currency conversion fees, if applicable.
Payments are made through bank transfers. Additional payment methods (Paypal, Revolut, etc) may be discussed.
The Client can request payment plans.
Partials and smaller orders will have up to 5 installments: 1. initial non-refundable deposit of €200 / 2. purchase of materials / 3. beginning of project / 4. halfway through project / 5. completed project + additional fees + shipping.
Full suits may go up to 7 installments , and custom payment plans can be discussed.
Commissions under 500€ will require full payment upfront, unless agreed otherwise.
The Artist is not responsible for failed or incorrect payments made by the Client.
The Artist will not begin working the commission until the second installment of the payment has been received, unless agreed otherwise.
Completed orders will not be shipped until full payment is received, including the shipping costs.
Every commission will have a deposit, which is not refundable past the planning phase, as it covers the time put into the quote, communication and initial preparations.
Full refunds that include the deposit are only possible if, during the initial phases, the Artist can't or doesn't wish to proceed anymore.
The Client can only ask for a partial refund, which will exclude the deposit and the portion of the total that was used in production.
No materials or parts can be shipped to the Client once they request a refund, unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
In the case of missing payments on the Client's side, the Artist reserves the right to apply late fees to the commission.
Said fees progressively increase the total price by 5/10/15% each month up to the fourth month, when the commission will be cancelled without refund and the Client will lose the rights to the commission.
Exceptions to this rule can be granted by the Artist through timely communication on the Client's side, but storage fees may still be applied.
The Artist reserves the right to reappropriate the rights on the product (not the character) as is on any cancelled commission.
The right of reselling the product is included, and any design change prior to reselling will be done at the Artist's discretion.
7. Shipping
Shipping costs are not included in any quote for the commission.
The package will be shipped via courier, so the quote for shipping expenses can only be provided once the commission has been concluded and after it has been packaged and weighed, meaning that it will depend on prices of the shipping companies at that moment in time. If possible, the Client will be able to choose the company.
The Artist is not responsible for customs fees, meaning that the Client should be ready to promptly pay them.
For non-European clients: make sure that your country's laws allow you to receive packages from Italy and that you can cover the expensive shipping costs and customs.
The Artist is not responsible for eventual damages during shipping or lost packages.
Due to the value of the product, buying the insurance policy of the chosen shipping company is a requirement. Electing not to buy insurance automatically voids the warranty for damages during shipping.
The Client is strongly encouraged to notify the Artist as soon as the product is delivered.
It is the responsibility of the Client to warn the Artist of any issue with the product within 30 days of receiving the product.
In case of returned packages, the Client will be responsible for paying shipping again.
Clients may request local pickup or at-con delivery, but it's always on a case-by-case basis at the Artist's discretion and the latter is possible only at a small selection of Italian and European conventions.
